Stained Glass

The world's oldest complete stained glass windows can be found in Augsberg, Germany. They are known as the "Five Prophets" and portray Biblical figures Moses, David, Daniel, Hosea and Jonas. The windows have survived more than nine hundred years.

Today, at Warneke Design, we employ the same techniques that were used to create those German windows. Our tools may be more advanced and our materials more consistently manufactured due to advances in modern technology but the same basic methods are still used. All pieces of glass are hand cut to precisely fit the hand-inked patterns. Medallions and details are done by hand and the windows are then leaded, soldered and sealed to withstand the elements.
